Welcome! This website is meant to provide helpful information for the occupants of Newcomb Hall during the time that the building will be under renovation. Construction began in the building on May 12, 2010 and will progress through three separate phases that span through the fall of 2012. During this time, various areas on all levels of Newcomb (including the exterior) will undergo changes that will ultimately improve the building in many ways; there will be dining and theatre upgrades, revisions to and relocation of the Student Activity Center and Programs Offices, a facelift for the Ballroom, a complete overhaul of the Cavalier Daily space, a new “Media Center”, and many other beneficial developments.
During the construction period, you may notice that certain areas are closed to the public or are modified to allow safe passage for the building occupants. At these areas, signage will be posted which may direct you to an alternate route or may provide other important information. In addition, regular visits to this website will keep you informed and up to date on the progress of the renovations and how this work is currently affecting pedestrian traffic patterns and/or occupancy of a particular area of the building.
